  COMPANY PROFILE

1977

- We started small - real small. In our first few years, we carried only two products! Back in 1977, telephone and intercom systems were sold seperately, and only two large companies could provide telephone systems (Alberta Government Telephones and ED TEL).

So we sold and serviced what we could - two intercom systems that allowed for inter-office communication.

1983

In 1983, we got our first big break. AGT allowed customers to choose their own telephone suppliers. NUTEC could finally sell phones, but not in Edmonton!

ED TEL still hadn't relaxed restrictions, so we sold our first product line, the Northern Telecom Vantage system, to businesses around, but not in, Edmonton.

1986

- The other shoe dropped. EDTEL allowed customers within Edmonton to choose their own telephone suppliers, and so NUTEC got a big boost.

We also picked up a new product called ISOETEC.

1987   NORTHERN TELECOM

- Ten years after we founded the business, NUTEC was big enough to act as a true telephone system dealer/interconnector. We could now sell more of Northern Telecom's systems directly to our customers.

1990

- NUTEC becomes an authorized TIE dealer that installs, supplies and maintains TIE ULTRACOM/BUSCOM/MERITOR systems.

1991

- By 1991, we were really cooking. We carried the Onyx systems, manufactured by Nitsuko, which boasted a brand new feature - Automated Attendant.

1993

Can you believe that in 1993, voice mail was a new product? Answering machines quickly became obsolete, and telephone systems become more and more complex.

NUTEC sold and serviced the new technology and soon emerged as one of the premier telephone companies in the area.

1995

- A huge leap. Our focus shifts from the ONYX line to Nitsuko's Optima line, a 100% digital phone that revolutionized the industry.

1996

- We landed our first big contract. By putting up systems in over 70 local schools in less than four months, NUTEC proved that we could handle any job thrown at us. We became a significant player in our hometown, providing the most advanced systems and the best service to our clients.

1999      ADTEL

- NUTEC joined forces with ADTEL, a local Edmonton company that is one of North America's foremost providers of custom music and messages for telephone hold.

2001

- NUTEC partnered up with TELUS, becoming a TELUS Authorized Dealer. We provision the TELUS line of products that includes long distance plans, card services, calling features, business lines, PRI Service, BRI Service, TELUS shared web hosting, and in a new step for NUTEC, TELUS High Speed Internet for Business.

NEC Empowered by Innovation
- This year also saw the merger of Nitsuko with NEC, now the second largest telephone equipment manufacturer in the world. NUTEC is a proud supplier of NEC technology.

2002

- We find ourselves on the edge of another huge leap in telephone systems technology - Internet Protocol. This merging of telephone and computer systems will allow companies to hook their phone lines into their computer systems, making long distance bills obsolete.

Soon, a cross-country call will cost as little as an e-mail message. It's called Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoiP) and NUTEC is one of the first to have it for you.

2003

- NUTEC is proud to become an authorized dealer for NORTEL.

2004    Aspire

- NUTEC completes first VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) transmission using the Aspire™. Aspire™ from NEC allows you to converge your voice and data network and enjoy the many advantages of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) while enjoying the hundreds of features you've come to expect from traditional digital/analog switching.

2005

- NUTEC is awarded the Silver Sales Award for outstanding sales of NEC products.

2006

NEC introduces the new Aspire Mail DMS. In addition to powerful Voice Mail and Automated
Attendant features, the new Aspire Mail DMS also offers the latest Desktop Messaging and Desktop Call Control technology.
Prioritize messages and respond to customers and coworkers more quickly with the power, speed and simplicity of Desktop Messaging.
